Eastland Memorial HospitalTexas

36% denials by payors decreased 23% hospital readmissions decreased

Eastland Memorial Hospital, located in the county seat of Eastland, Texas, is the only hospital servicing the more than 18,000 area residents. The hospital provides a variety of care including acute care, a cardiac rehabilitation center, surgical and medical services, specialty clinics, and a Level IV Trauma Center Emergency Department.

Eastland Memorial has continued to provide a wide range of quality medical and health services since 1953 when they began a mission to lay aside social, racial, and religious differences in offering medical care to their community.

The rate of payors denials began to creep up over the past years, and the hospital experienced low admission rates, which had led to decreased revenue. Since bServed was implemented in August 2022, admission rates have gone up by a markable 68%.

Other improvements quickly followed as bServed’s comprehensive Emergency Department Utilization Management program took effect. Denials by payors decreased by 36%, and hospital readmissions decreased by 23%. The additional revenue these changes generated has allowed for improved care for all patients, and particularly for those with chronic health conditions. The hospital is now experiencing a steady growth in admission rates.
